Dr. Rolf M. BergmaierOperations & EngineeringDr. Rolf M. Bergmaier is Director of Operations & Engineering at SwissRapide AG. He studied at the University of Zurich and the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology in Zurich, where he achieved his Ph.D. in Natural Science.
Rolf Bergmaier is an internationally recognised railway expert and is specialised in the area of integrated transportation planning, in particular operational concepts, taking into account technical, economical and market aspects. He has carried out the consulting of public transport companies, public authorities and system suppliers of railway equipment in the areas of organisation, tendering processes, economic feasibility, operations, railway systems and construction.
Dr. Bergmaier has over 30 years of professional experience, where he has worked for numerous projects in Europe, China, Indonesia, South Africa, Brazil, Chile and Australia. In addition, he also worked for the Canton of Zurich, Swiss Federal Railways SBB and Electrowatt Engineering Ltd in Zurich, Switzerland.
In 2009, he joined the Management Board at SwissRapide AG, and has been actively supporting the company with his knowledge and experience since then.
